-WSDO- Natural dyeing Yoga Mat Bag

WSDO (Women's Skills Development Organization), which was established for the purpose of promoting the employment of Nepalese women, protecting traditions, and enriching the lives of women, has delivered a handmade, plant-dyed yoga mat bag.
The natural and rustic texture is perfect for a yoga mat bag. You can use it for a long time without getting tired of it because it is a gentle color of natural dyeing.
Both handles are adjustable, so you can use both hands free like a rucksack, and since it is Indian cotton, you can easily wash it by hand if it gets dirty.

WSDO (Women's Skills Development Organization)

The women who belong to this organization have different environments, such as women raising children on their own, women who were unable to find work because they could not read and write, and women who need special support for reasons such as disabilities.
The women who work here make hand-woven cloth using a technique called jibataori, which is rare even in Nepal, where they use their legs and waist dexterously. This method is characterized by being able to weave cloth by combining trees that can be prepared at home.
Since the work is divided into labor and can be taken home to work, there are 200 women working.
Women are working on handicrafts such as pouches, bags and accessories. We put our hearts into creating products that people around the world will love, not just in Japan.

material Indian cotton, hemp

More than 90% of Yinyang's products are made from natural materials, and more than 70% are dyed with plants. Therefore, compared to general synthetic fiber products or products dyed with chemical dyes, they are more susceptible to washing and sunlight, and plant-dyed products change color with repeated use. Please enjoy each texture and its changes.

Vegetable dyed products

How to care for vegetable-dyed products

  1. The color is particularly prone to fading during the first few washes (approximately the third time), so please turn it inside out and wash it gently by hand in cold or lukewarm water. After that, you can turn it inside out, put it in the net, select the hand wash cycle, and wash it in the washing machine. (Except for white and light colored ones.)
Also, make sure to dissolve your detergent (use mild, environmentally friendly, natural ingredients) in water first before adding it to your clothes. If detergent comes into direct contact with the fabric, it may cause discoloration.
Do not use bleach or fluorescent detergents as they may cause color fading.
  2. To prevent fading, please dry inside out in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight.
  3. When storing, avoid placing it under direct sunlight or fluorescent lights, and store it in a dark place in a closet or drawer to avoid moisture.

Please keep the above points in mind before purchasing.
Please use it for a long time while feeling the texture of the vegetable dyeing that changes over time.

Storage method

  • It is sensitive to light, so please store it in a dark place such as a dresser or closet.
  • In particular, if only one part of the fabric is exposed to light, the color will change in that area and the color will be uneven.
  • Please store away from moisture

To make it last longer

  • Direct contact with detergent on clothing may cause discoloration.
  • Hand wash in lukewarm water or with a small amount of neutral detergent in water to extend its life.
  • Dry cleaning may cause discoloration depending on the chemicals used.
  • Avoid soap as it is alkaline
  • We recommend washing dark-colored products separately to avoid color transfer (please note that color transfer may occur if you touch other fabrics while wet)
  • Soaking and washing is not recommended.
  • When drying, please avoid direct sunlight and dry in the shade.
  • When ironing, please iron from the back side at medium temperature.

Recommended detergent

  • laundry mug-chan
  • Neutral detergent with natural ingredients such as coconut detergent

Weaknesses of plant-dyed products

  • Light such as direct sunlight or indoor fluorescent lights
  • Discoloration and color transfer due to rubbing and friction
  • Food spills (acid from fruit juice, etc.)
  • Detergent acids and alkalis
  • Contact with metals such as iron when wet
  • Washing with iron-rich water

hemp products

How to care for hemp products

Hemp has a low impact on the environment, and is characterized by quick drying, light weight, antibacterial properties, and UV protection.
Hemp products can be washed in regular household washing machines. Because it is a natural fiber, you can wear it for a longer time by treating it a little more gently than usual.
With repeated washing, the fabric may become softer and the color may change slightly, but we hope that you understand that this is a texture unique to hemp, and that you can enjoy the change in its entirety.

Recommended care methods

  1. When washing hemp products, you can turn them inside out, put them in the net, select the hand wash cycle, and wash them in the washing machine. (Except for white and light colored ones.)
  2. Wash in cold or warm water using a mild detergent (preferably non-toxic and biodegradable).
  3. Also, dissolve the detergent in water first before adding it to your clothes. If detergent comes into direct contact with the fabric, it may cause discoloration.
  4. Please refrain from using bleach or fluorescent detergents as they may cause color fading.
  5. We recommend leaving it inside out, adjusting its shape, and drying it in the shade to avoid direct sunlight. If you leave it wet, the color may become uneven, so please dry it immediately.
  6. When storing, avoid placing it under direct sunlight or fluorescent lights, and store it in a dark place such as a closet or drawer.

Weaknesses of hemp products

  • Discoloration caused by light such as direct sunlight or indoor fluorescent lights
  • Fluff due to rubbing and friction

Storage method

  • If you store it carefully like regular clothes, you can wear it for a long time.

To make it last longer

  • Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water or with a small amount of mild detergent in water to extend its life.
  • Dry cleaning may cause discoloration depending on the chemicals used.
  • We recommend washing dark-colored products separately to avoid color transfer (please note that color transfer may occur if you touch other fabrics while wet)
  • Compared to other fibers, hemp may shrink and curl a little, so soaking and washing is not recommended.
  • We recommend hanging to dry in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight.
  • If using a dryer, please set it to low temperature
  • When ironing, please iron from the back side at medium temperature.
